At least two people were killed in a blast near wanted terrorist Hafiz Saeed in Lahore.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani confirmed to reporters that the blast took place near the residence of Jamatud Dawa (JuD) chief Saeed, The Dawn reported. It also quoted him as saying, “The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has taken over [the investigation]. The CTD will determine whether the blast was a suicide blast, if a device was used.”
It is yet to be determined whether it was an attack or a gas leak that led to the blast. However, Indian Twitter was abuzz with rumours just minutes after the news came out. Many claimed that the blast site was inside the residence of Saeed.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner Mudassir Riaz Malik told Samaa TV that 12 people, including women and children, had been injured in the blast.
