The task force set up for coronavirus management in the country has decided to drop plasma therapy from the covid 19 management protocol in the country. The decision was taken by the AIIMS-ICMR Covid-19 National Task Force.
Indian health ministry now indicates that convalescent plasma offers no therapeutic benefits in patients diagnosed with coronavirus. The therapy uses blood plasma from people who have recovered from covid 19 to help patients fighting the disease.
