FORDA strike called off, doctors to join duty by noon today

The federation of resident doctors’ association of India (FORDA) has announced the end of the 14-day long strike. Representatives of FORDA met the union health minister late Thursday and then the decision was taken.

It has been agreed that the ministry of health and family welfare will submit the Committee Report to the Supreme Court of India before 6th January 2022 and the NEET-PG 2021 Counselling schedule will be posted soon. FIRs filed against the protesting doctors will be cancelled and hospital authorities will also not take any punitive action against them.

“A virtual meeting of FORDA with all RDA Representatives was convened late in the evening whereby all the proceedings were conveyed & all concerning points were discussed in detail. It was unanimously decided to call off the agitation on 31st December 2021, 12NOON, considering various factors including patient care. It was also decided that a national meeting with all RDA Representatives will be convened by FORDA on 6th January,” FORDA said in a press statement.
