Delhi has reported 1796 fresh covid 19 cases on December 30, taking the total number of active cases to 1448211. Meanwhile, Mumbai reported 5,631 new cases on the day.
Gurugram alone reported 13 fresh cases of Omicron variant of COVID-19 on December 31, taking the total Omicron cases to 16.
Noida now has 200 active cases while Ghaziabad has more than 100. At least 150 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Bihar and the state also registered its first case of omicron infection.
Assam has registered 192 new covid 19 cases.
Tamil Nadu issued fresh instructions urging malls, salons, movie theaters, amusement parks, shops and metro trains to function at 50% of their capacities. The restrictions will be applicable till January 10. The state has 27,48,045 active covid 19 cases while 11 people died due to coronavirus on December 30, taking the state’s total death toll to 36,776.
