Distributors of crucial Remdesivir injection have written to the Delhi Commissioner of Police, seeking police help in maintaining law and order situation while delivering the medicine being widely used to save lives of people infected with coronavirus.
Undersigned by distributors, the letter addressed Delhi CP and said, “Whereas, due to sharp increase in COVID cases in Delhi, the demand of the Remdesivir Formulations has increased exponentially. The officials of Drugs Control Department, Govt. of Delhi in association with various CFA/Stockiests/Distributors of various companies involved in their distribution are closely monitoring the availability and distribution of said formulations to make them available to various Hospitals/Nursing Homes and admitted patients.”
It further said, “However, steep increase in demand of the said formulations has resulted into long queues of attendants of patients, which are now becoming unmanageable and resulting in Law and Order problem because of this panic situation at these sites. In view of above, you are requested to provide adequate security arran ment and police staff at these sites as per list attached so that Law and Order situation at these sites and security of staff distributing this drug is ensured. You immediate action in this matter would be highly appreciated.”
