The Twitter account of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was compromised early Wednesday and followers saw unusual tweets from the account.
The hackers changed the name of the account to Elon Musk and posted several tweets saying “great job” to a few news items promoting bitcoins. Last month, a similar hack attack happened on the prime minister’s Twitter account. A tweet promoting cryptocurrency was shared from the handle before it could be restored.
The ministry’s account has now been restored and the ministry also informed the same with a tweet. The profile picture and name of the account have also been restored to original.
