Communal violence in Haryana: Curfew imposed in Nuh, Gurugram

The administration imposed Section 144 in Nuh and Gurugram districts of Haryana late Monday following communal violence in the region.

Educational institutions- private as well as government – have been ordered to remain closed on August 1, Tuesday. Some schools opted for online mode to conduct classes for the students.

It all started after stomes were pelted on the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra being taken out by a Vishwa Hindu Parishad group near Khedla Mod in Nuh, Haryana Police said. Several police vehicles have also been damaged and two home guards shot dead.

Vehicles were also torched on Sohna Road, and situation was controlled with timely intervention by the administration and cops.

Another incident of violence was reported grom Sector 57 in Gurugram where around 40 people fired at a mosque and set it ablaze late on Monday night.
