India has registered 85,362 fresh covid 19 cases till Saturday morning, in last 24 hours, taking the total number of covid 19 infections beyond 59 lakh-mark to 59,03,933. With 1,089 new covid 19 deaths reported in last 24 hours, the total death toll had now reached 9,60,969.
Currently, India has 9,60,969 active cases and 48,49,585 people have been treated and discharged, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in their latest data.
More than 47.5 lakh (47,56,164) patients have recovered so far. 81,177 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.Recovered cases have exceeded active cases (9,70,116) by nearly 38 lakhs (37,86,048), as per the latest data issued by the government.
At least 32,475,585 people have been infected with covid 19 the world over and 987,754 have lost their lives. Also, 22,377,620 people have recovered so far. While topping the list of countries with maximum recoveries, India remains the second worst-hit country after the United States.
The hardest-hit, US, has registered more than seven million cases, contributing more than a fifth of the global total despite accounting for only four percent of the global population.
