India has reported 96,551 new covid 19 cases in the last 24 hours, making a total of 45,62,414 confirmed cases till date in the country. Of this, Maharashtra alone has more than 23,000 and Andhra Pradesh has more than 10,000 cases in past 24 hours alone.
Nearly 57% of the new cases are reported from only five States. These are the same States that are also contributing 60% of the new recovered cases. The total number of active cases in the country stands at 9,43,480 as on date.
Maharashtra is leading this tally with more than 2,60,000 cases followed by Karnataka with more than 1,00,000 cases.
As many as 1,209 covid 19 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours. Maharashtra has reported 495 deaths followed by Karnataka with 129 deaths, whereas Uttar Pradesh has logged 94 deaths.
Nearly 74% of the total active cases are in nine most affected States. andMaharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh contribute more than 48% of the total active cases.
Delhi has reported 4039 fresh covid 19 cases in past 24 hours, making a total of 201174 cases till date. The national capital has 23773 active covid 19 cases. Gurugram, on the other hand, reported 14309 cases till date with 309 fresh covid 19 cases in past 24 hours alone. Haryana has reported 85944 cases till date and among these, 66705 have recovered while 18332 are active cases. Haryana has registered 907 covid deaths till date.
Bihar has reported 1,710 fresh covid cases in past 24 hours, taking the total till date to 15679. The state currently has 17,388 active cases and has registered 46388 deaths due to covid 19 so far. With 211 fresh covid 19 cases in capital city of Patna in past 24 hours alone, the total number for Patna reached 23395. Gaya alone has reported 5026 confirmed covid 19 cases till date and 44 deaths. Of these, 4575 patients have recovered as per government data.
A total of 70,880 covid 19 recoveries have been registered in the last 24 hours in India. Maharashtra has alone contributed more than 14,000 and Andhra Pradesh has contributed more than 10,000 to the single day recoveries. The total number of covid 19 recoveries has touched 35,42,663 taking the recovery rate to 77.65%. 60% of the new recovered cases are being reported from five States, viz. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
