Dense fog, cold wave to hit India over weekend

The Indian Meterological department has predicted heavy rainfall in isolated parts of south India, and cold wave in some parts as the week comes to an end. According to the forecast shared by the department, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka are likely to receive heavy rainfall between Friday and Sunday. Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan may bear the brunt of the cold wave on January 5, 6 and 7. East Indian regions are expected to see a rise in the temperature by two or three degrees.

South Tamil Nadu, south Kerala and Laskshwadeep will also receive light to moderate rainfall. Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Rayalseema and Andhra Pradesh may receive isolated Light rainfall.

Northern states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will witness dense fog and cold on January 7. Isolated parts of Bihar will also witness dense fog and cold wave on Friday and Saturday

Dense fog conditions are also very likely to prevail in a few pockets over Jammu division, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram over the weekend. Cold wave, and extreme cold condiyions will prevail in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on 04th over the weekend.
