Rahul Gandhi denied permission to land? ‘Neither required nor submitted request’, says Purnea DM Rahul Kumar

Hours after Congress claimed that party Rahul Gandhi was denied permission to land in Purnea, the district magistrate has revealed no application for permission to land was submitted with the administration.

Purnea DM Rahul Kumar took to Twitter to dispel the fake claims. “#FactCheck regarding ‘permission denial’:- 1. The transit program was scheduled on 23rd Oct at Purnea Airforce Station. 2. We started preparations as per the security protocol and ASL meeting was also completed. 3. On 22nd evening we were informed about ‘Revised’ tour program which didn’t include Purnea as transit. AF station doesn’t come under jurisdiction of district administration. Permission for landing was neither required from administration nor any application was submitted for the same, hence no question of denying. @dmpurnea ” Mr Kumar wrote in a series of tweets

Gandhi is slated to hold two rallies at Hisua (Nawada) and Kahalgaon (Bhagalpur).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held rallies in Sasaram and Gaya. He will also address the public in Bhagalpur later on Friday.

The Bihar assembly elections are being held in three phases and the state goes to poll on October 28 for the first phase. The second and third phases of voting will take place on November 3 and 7 respectively. The results will be announced on November 10.
