The number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed 2 million mark and as per the government records, 2,268,675 confirmed cases have been registered till Tuesday morning. At least 639,929 of these are active cases while 42,257 have already died due to covid-19 related complications.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka remain on top with maximum number of coronavirus cases. Punjab, Kashmir and Kerala are at the bottom of the list with least number of covid 19 cases.
Meanwhile, the worldwide number for coronavirus cases 2,00,11,186 and at least 7,34,755 registered cases due to the virus. India is the top third country, after the US and Brazil with maximum number of covid 19 cases across the globe.
The Expert Committee on Vaccine Administration under the chairmanship of Dr V K Paul, Niti Ayog will meet on Wednesday to consider logistics & ethical aspects of procurement & administration of the vaccine. The Committee will engage with all the stakeholders including State governments and vaccine manufacturers.
