The Women’s Premiere League 2024 is all set to begin Friday, February 23 at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Eleven matches will be held in Bengaluru while the rest will be held in Delhi. JioCinema will livestream the matches online.
All the five competing teams will play against each other twice and the top team in WPL points tally will qualify for the final match. The second team for the final will be decided by a match to be held between the teams ranking at the second and third slots on the tally.
The broadcasting rights of Women’s Premier League 2024 are held by Viacom 18 and fans can watch the live matches on various TV channels including Colors Cineplex, Sports 18, and they will also be live streamed on JioCinema.
Opening match: Date and teams
The opening match for Women’s Premier League 2024 will be held on Friday at 7.30pm in Bengaluru between the finalists of the last season – Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians are the defending champions. The opening ceremony will be held at 6.30pm and the toss is expected to take place around 7pm. Bollywood stars Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, Kartik Aaryan and Sidharth Malhotra are set to perform during the opening ceremony.
There will be a total of 22 matches among five different teams competing for the trophy this year.
Final match: Date and venue
The final match of Women’s Premier League 2024 will be held at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on March 17.
