Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap lied about property, gave false affidavits to EC, alleges JDU leader

The ruling Janata Dal (United) and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi have alleged that brothers and RJD leaders Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav have submitted fake affidavits to the Election Commission and concealed information about their properties. JDU also filed a complaint with the EC.

Senior JDU leader Neeraj Kumar said, “We have given documentary proof about properties not mentioned by Tejashwi and his elder brother in their affidavits. Tejashwi has hidden information of his properties despite holding a responsible post. He is making tall claims but will people believe him?”

“We have been assured that the EC will look into it,” he added.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, as well as Neeraj Kumar, also questioned the resources that may help Tejashwi create the 10 lakh jobs that he has been promising in his rallies.

Rejecting the complaint as driven by political agenda, RJD’s state spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwary said, “Only in the second phase, the JD (U) has realized how it has lost its political ground in the state and is losing in the polls. This is why they are resorting to such tactics.”

Last month, Mr Modi had claimed that Tejaswi’s affidavit promised a loan of Rs 401 million to an unnamed company. The deputy CM also said that Mr Yadav took money from candidates in exchange for votes.
