Schools reopen in Bihar, Khijarsarai govt school closed after principal tests covid 19 positive

The headmaster of Kijarsarai high school, Gaya (Saraiya village), has tested positive for covid 19 and the school was closed, just three days after reopening. He is currently in a Patna hospital.

Showing due diligence, the headmaster informed the district education officer (DEO), urging closure of the school. A Hindustan Times report quoted Gaya DEO Musatafa Hussan Mansuri as saying, “The school has been closed till the sanitization of the school is completed and all the teachers and staff who came in contact with the headmaster are also tested. Only those who test negative in the RT-PCR test will be allowed to attend, while those testing positive will have to remain in isolation and undergo prescribed treatment.”

Earlier this week, schools and educational instituitions were allowed to reopen, months after having been shut down due to the pandemic-induced lockdown that struck the nation in March 2020.
