JEE Mains Results declared: 24 students scored 100 percentile, here’s a complete list of toppers list

National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of JEE Mains exam on Friday. The exams were conducted in 12 shifts from September 1 to 6 at various centres amid the strict precautions and social distancing due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.

The agency has released the merit list based on the JEE Mains held in January and September this year. Over 2.24 lakh students are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced exam to be held on September 27, 2020 to get admission into 23 premier Institutes of Information Technology (IITs). According to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, only 6.35 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 8.58 lakh registrations.

Since the last year, JEE Mains exam is conducted twice a year. Firstly, it was conducted in January 2020, and secondly in September 2020. All the exams including NEET, have been delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak. Despite the students’ protest against conducting exams during pandemic, the government had postponed the date twice and finally conducted exams in early September.

Some state governments including Odisha Government had organised the transportation services for the students to sit in the exam. Further, some groups of IIT students have united to provide the transportation facilities to the candidates.

Like the previous year, 24 students have scored 100 percentile this year too.
