India has reported a total of 5.21 million covid 19 cases and 97,894 fresh cases came to light in the past 24 hours alone. The country saw 1132 covid 19 deaths in the past one day, taking the total death toll due to covid 19 to 84372. World over, 946000 people have died due to covid 19 while a total of 30.2 million covid 19 cases have been registered across the globe.
Globally, we are the second worst-hit country and are also likely to overtake the United States (6.67 million cases) in just a few weeks. In Maharashtra alone, the state police force has had 434 cops testing positive for covid 19 in the last 24 hours while four died in the last one day. The total number of infections in the Maharashtra Police now stands at 20,801 including 3,883 active cases, 16,706 recovered cases, and 212 deaths.
Delhi has registered 4,432 fresh covid 19 cases in last one day, taking the total past 2.34 lakh. Delhi saw 38 fresh casualties on Thursday and the national capital has 31,721 active cases.
Meanwhile, The total number of confirmed COVID cases in Jammu is 9428. Of these, 3196 have recovered. COVID deaths are reported to be 117. There are 6115 Active Cases in the district. The total cases one week ago were 6878. Jammu has been reporting a Doubling Time of 15.4 days, Recovery Rate of 33.9%, and CFR of 1.24%. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare decided to depute a high-level Central team to Jammu. The district has reported a rise in the number of new COVID cases in recent days. The team comprises of Dr. S K Singh, Director, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and Dr. Vijay Hadda, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pulmonary Critical Care, AIIMS, New Delhi.
Bihar reported 197 active cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases to 13,156. With seven covid 19 deaths in one day, the state’s death tally stands at .
Himachal Pradesh recorded 100 new Covid-19 cases & 15 recoveries today, taking the total positive cases in the state to 11,290 so far, including 4,221 active cases, 6,934 recoveries & 104 deaths.
On a slightly positive note, with 87,472 recoveries in the past 24 hours, India has now been consistently reporting a very high level of daily recoveries of more than 70,000 since the past 11 days. As per the government, the recovery rate has escalated to 78.86% on Friday and the total recovered cases stand at 41,12,551. The top 5 States with high Active Caseload are also the ones presently reporting a high level of recoveries.
59.8% of the active cases are being reported from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. These States are also contributing to 59.3% of the total recoveries. 90% of the new recoveries are reported from 16 States and UTs.
