In wake of the brutal second wave that continues to affect Indians all over, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh administrations have decided to extend their lockdown and “corona curfew” respectively till May 17.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a press conference on Sunday, “In the last few days, we spoke with large sections of people – men, women, youngsters, traders, etc. The larger public opinion suggests that we cannot let our guards down now. So, we are forced to increase the lockdown by another week for the safety of people. If we survive, we can think of economic recovery in later stages.”
UP recorded 26,847 new covid 19 cases while 298 covid deaths were reported in the state over past 24 hours. That took the total covid cases count to 1,480,315.
