Reports suggest that at least seven people died after alleged consumption of spurious liquor in East Champaran district in Bihar. Around ten people fell ill in the incident. Cops told the media that they have arrested seven people in relation with the case. Motihari Police also claimed to have arrested 14 people in relation with illegal possession, production, packaging, distribution, and/or sale of alcohol.
As per the new Bihar Excise Act, the manufacturing, bottling, distribution, transportation, collection, storage, sale, possession, and/or purchase of any intoxicant liquor is completly prohibited.
