Increasing pressure for the arrest of the suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Kamal Kant, a POSCO court in Gaya has issued a warrant against him. The warrant was issued in relation with the case of an alleged assault on a minor girl.
Sessions judge Neeraj Kumar issued the warrant.
DSP Kant has been accused of raping a minor Dalit girl, aged 14, in Gaya district of Bihar. Earlier, Bihar home department had issued orders to arrest him.
He was booked last month after the girl’s brother lodged a complaint in the case. The now-suspended DSP was serving as a DSP in the Bihar Special Armed Police four years ago when the incident allegedly happened. .
