Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly underwent angioplasty on Saturday, after he complained of dizziness. The operation was successful and the BCCI President will be under observation.
Dr Aftab Khan of Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital said in a statement, “Sourav Ganguly has undergone angioplasty. He is stable now. He will be monitored for 24 hours. He is completely conscious. There are two blockages in his heart for which he will be treated.”
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee also posted her wishes for a speedy recovery for Ganguly. “Sad to hear that @SGanguly99 suffered a mild cardiac arrest and has been admitted to hospital. Wishing him a speedy and full recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family!”
