Hours after Varun Gandhi called the Lakhimpuri death as “murder”, his name went missing from a new list released by BJP president JP Nadda. Nadda issued the names of 80members of the party who are on the national executive committee. Maneka Gandhi’s name was also missing from the list.
Varun had tweeted the video earlier in the day and wrote, “The video is crystal clear. Protestors cannot be silenced through murder. There has to be accountability for the innocent blood of farmers that has been spilled and justice must be delivered before a message of arrogance and cruelty enters the minds of every farmer.”
Former union minister Chaudhary Birender Singh is also missing from the list. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, party veteran LK Advani and defence minister Rajnath Singh are listed as members of the committee.
