Shiromani Akali Dal exits NDA: Agri Bills brought by the BJP govt are lethal for the beleaguered farmers, says Badal

Shiromani Akali Dal core committee announced late Saturday that it had unanimously to pull out of the BJP-led NDA because of the centre’s stubborn refusal to give statutory legislative guarantees to protect assured marketing of crops on MSP and its continued insensitivity to Punjabi and Sikh issues. SAD core committee, in a meeting presided over by party president, decided unanimously to pull out of the BJP-led NDA alliance because of centre’s stubbornness on Agri Ordinances & its continued insensitivity towards excluding Punjabi language as official language in J&K a statement from the party said.

“Agri Bills brought by the BJP govt are lethal for the beleaguered farmers, but SAD will continue to stand by its core principles of peace, communal harmony & guard the interest of Punjab, Punjabi in general & Sikhs & farmers in particular,” S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said while announcing the break up with NDA.

The SAD chief also announced that his party will hold a Kisan March on October 1, which would commence from all the three holy Takht Sahibs in Punjab & culminate at Mohali, after which a delegation would submit memorandum for the president of India, to Punjab Governor.
