Hours after former union minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh write gus resignation to the party chief, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad responded with disbelief and refusal to accept the resignation.
“…I cannot believe (that you have resigned from the RJD). My family and I want you to recover fast, and to see you standing among us. For the last four decades, we have sat together to make political, social, and even family decisions together. You should first recover, and we can then talk it out. You are not going anywhere. I am telling you,” the RJD chief responded via a statement issued by the party on social media.
Singh has also addressed his resignation letter to the party chief and it was shared online.
A day after the resignation, Singh has now written a letter to Bihar chief minister and Janata Dal United (JDU) chief Nitish Kumar, listing down suggestions. He talked of issues concerning his native village in Vaishali and an amendment in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The ruling JDU has made it clear that in case the veteran leader decides to join the party, he will be welcome.
In the letter to Bihar chief minister Nitish, Singh, urged for an amendment to the MNREGA Act, through an ordinance, to facilitate farmers with more benefits. He also asked for the begging bowl of Lord Buddha to be brought from Kabul. Singh also requested the CM to build small bridges over the Gandak canal in Muzaffarpur and Vaishali districts.
