India has reported 2,35,532 new covid cases and 627 new deaths over the past one day, taking the total number of Covid-related deaths to 4.92 lakh.
Delhi registered 4,044 fresh coronavirus cases and 25 people died due to covid-related issues. Earlier, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) lifted weekend curfew and ended the odd-even rule for commercial outings.
Cinemas are also now allowed to function with 50%c capacity in the national capital. Markets and malls can now open with full capacity.
Maharashtra reported 9,17,190 new cases and 783 deaths.
As the number of daily fresh covid cases took a dip in the state, Haryana government also announced relaxation on covid-rules. Movie theatres and multiplexes have been allowed to open with 50% capacity, starting February 1. Colleges and schools for classes 10, 11 and 12, along with coaching institutes have also been allowed to function with effect from Tuesday.
