India has reported 2,68,833new cases in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data from the ministry of health and family welfare. The active caseload stands at 14,17,820 and 6,041 Omicron cases have been detected so far.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal state government is likely to cancel the rally scheduled for January 23, to mark Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birthday. It may also curtail Republic Day celebrations due to the surge in fresh covid cases.
