Bus overturned in Odisha, seven injured

A bus carrying migrant workers from Kerala to West Bengal overturned in the Balasore district of Odisha Saturday morning, leaving mishap left 7 injured including a driver. The bus was carrying 38 passengers who belonged to Krishna Nagar in West Bengal and were stranded in Kerala to adhere to the lockdown guidelines.

According to The Hindu, the bus driver lost control and bus skidded on NH16 near Nuagaon village and then plunged into a ditch. The passengers were rescued with the help of locals before police and fire service personnel reached the site. According to Inspector-in-charge Paresh Rout, they were in safe conditions and were sent to the hospital in the district.

The rest of the passengers were sent to the temporary camps to obey the lockdown instructions. Nilu Mohapatra, who is a Sub Collector at Balasore, assured the necessary arrangements by the administration for their treatment. The administration will also support them to reach their destination.
