Bihar issues new guidelines for migrants reaching the state from outside

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has provided several guidelines to be followed in the state after analyzing the work being done in order to control the spread of Covid-19 and to solve the problems faced by migrant workers and self-employed people of Bihar. Bihar government has already credited Rs 1000 in the accounts of those labourers who belong to Bihar but are now stranded in other states.

For those labourers who have come to the state but do not have a bank account, the government is planning to open their accounts and credit it with rupees 1000. Remaining ration card holders will get a help of rupees 1000.

Proper amount of money will be provided to those farmers who lost their crops due to hailstorms and unseasonal rainfall.

An amount ranging between rupees 500 and rupees 1000 will be credited in the accounts of those workers who have come to the state at their own expense and have completed their quarantine period. Proper arrangements are being made in order to provide employment to all these labourers.

Family members of labourers especially females should be immediately linked with Self Help Groups, so that they can know about the policies of the government and enjoy the benefits. This will make them more confident, empowered and independent.
