Director Kamakhya Narayan Singh has been making documentaries for years. However, he decided to make his debut feature film with a subject and premise that was closer home. Bhor, his first feature film is now available on MX PLayer and traces the sanitation issues in a Bihar village and how social equations play a role in the entire fight.
Speaking with Dainik Samvaad, Mr Singh reveals that his parents are from Bihar and he often spent his school vacations in a village near Bihta, near the capital of Bihar – Patna. “The character of the Thakur is based on my grandfather. I saw him being connected with everyone, unlike the typical Bollywood thakur of a village.”
